Chapter 7 ~ Dream or Not, “It Spoke to Me”

Not wanting to come back from where ever “It” had taken her, but the annoying voice of the young waiter “miss, miss are you ok?” brought her back from the place that seemed way to comfortable, a place where she wasn’t afraid, and right before the waiter tapped her cheek she could have almost felt that “It” had been holding her, comforting her.

No, she was certain that hadn’t happened because up until this point she feared “It”.

Embarrassed at having blacked out in front of the people in the diner, she quickly gathers herself up off the floor and runs out the door toward the dingy hotel she now calls home.

Arriving “home” she sits on the edge of her bed and tries to remember the dream again. Not understanding why “It” had paid her a visit in front of everyone, how come she felt that she knew “It” and had they really spoken, and why in her dream did she say she was expecting “It” Did she really bake him a cake?Puzzled at today’s events and her head pounding she lays back on her bed, remembering back to the first day “It” had came to her, “It” was always a dark, a void with no face. But today in her dream “It” appeared as a man, a man she acted like she knew and had been expecting.

Closing her eyes for a brief second a sudden gush of wind passes overhead and a very distinct smell of lemon fills the air. The familiar feeling of the dark, cold “It” rushes into the room and shatters her peaceful thoughts.

Shaken by the sudden coldness, she gets up and heads toward the kitchen for a hot cup of tea. Pushing through the door, she is shocked to see splattered against the wall, flour eggs, sugar all the ingredients in which one would use to bake a cake.Scared and confused she collapses against the door, tears streaming down her face she shouts “what do you want from me?” “It’s” response back was “I am the void you have allowed yourself to have, it’s up to you to choose which path you want to take.” And as quickly as the lemon scent and coldness appeared it was gone. Looking up she notices the walls are clean….
