Handbag – Brown Cinch made by Mad Style

I decided to review their Brown Cinch, when it arrived I was even more amazed, the image on their site didn’t do it justice. This handbag is a true beauty and I’ve gotten many compliments on it.

I love the color, I have many black handbags but didn’t have any brown ones. I wanted a bag that would match a suit I had for interviews, this turned out to be perfect.  It is roomy enough to carry all the beauty things us women carry around, my cell phone, journal, my kindle and for all those things that somehow find their way into them. (little gadgets and goodies our family hands to us while out).

The bag is made of  faux leather exterior with a zipper entry, a little pocket with zipper on the back, a cell phone pocket, wall pocket and a center compartment on the interior, all with zipper closures. is something that is somewhat of a pain for me, I don’t like bras that dig into my shoulders. I want a comfortable bra that fits. I’ve  bought cheap bras, expensive bras and none have fit me perfectly. Most of you women could probably agree with me bras just aren’t that comfy.

Baby Signing Time – My Review -

I decided to review Baby Signing Time Vol. 1: It’s Baby Signing Time, because my newest grand baby is only 9 months old. I  wanted to start with something that her older sister (4 in June) could learn from too. I know very few signs and this will also be a great start for me. I can’t wait to sit down with my family and start learning to sign.

One of the main reasons I decided to do this review was not only the fact that I believe it’s important for us to be able to communicate with “everyone” we may meet. But also because my grand-daughter Kayden is slightly delayed in speech. I think this will be a great way for her to communicate better with us, and give her a better feeling about communicating. I see her getting frustrated now at not being able to be completely understood, this breaks my heart and I fear it keeps her from trying.

Our world is surrounded by people who can’t hear, that have other conditions that affect their speech which makes communicating with others difficult. We can help them, and ourselves by learning to communicate in a language they understand. If by me learning a few signs brings a smile to someone’s face it’s well worth any efforts I put into it.

When I stumbled across Zoobies site I fell in love with their pet blankets. I decided to contacted them and was  super excited when they offered to let me review a blanket pet of my choice. I knew from the start that this would be great for my granddaughter Kayden. She loves to sleep with a woobie (stuffed animal friend) and has been a blanket baby since she was born. So this item is perfect for her!

I had a hard time deciding which one to choose they have such a large selection. Cute little animals like Zulu the zebra, Mashaka the monkey, Caliel the camel, Tama the Tortoise, and so many more. I decided on Uriel because Kayden loves unicorns.

My Review of Uriel the Unicorn Blanket Pet

Zoobies customer service was great, they were polite and quick to responded to my email. The item arrived within a week of the final arrangement being made. Packaging was great, the pet blanket was sealed in a clear bag, and surrounded by package stuffing.  Over-all customer service experience was perfect.

Uriel the Unicorn is super soft, the little horn on the top of her head is made from shiny material. The colors are so bright and vibrant. A super cute bedtime friend for any little girl. Can’t wait to see Kayden with her.  As seen in the picture above Uriel is in her animal shape form, if you turn her over on her back there are two velcro straps that hold her together. If you open those she folds out into a kid size pillow.

On the underside towards her tail you’ll notice a zipper, the blanket is stored in this compartment. It’s attached by another zipper inside the compartment, which keeps the blanket and pillow together.  You can de-attach the blanket from the pillow and use Uriel as a snuggle buddy too. Uriel is super cute and I can’t wait to see Kayden cuddling with her.

The Robby Wash Ball advertisement claims that the ball lasts 12 months on average, it will leave your clothes soft, and it didn’t require any additional detergent to clean clothes or odor removal detergents to get your laundry smelling fresh. I will be honest after reading this I wasn’t sold. What I mean is I didn’t think that this little ball would clean my laundry or leave it smelling freshly washed.

Oransi offered to let me give their product a try, (make a non believer a believer). I decided to try the blue one since it was for both cold and hot water washes.

When the product arrived I was excited to give it a try. I had about 3 loads left of my normal laundry soap, and I had it written on my shopping list (which hangs on the refrigerator) as soon as the Robby Wash Ball arrived I scratched it off my list. The hub’s noticed and asked when I had gotten the laundry soap (he helps with some shopping and wanted to make sure I didn’t still need it) I only replied with “yeah, we won’t be buying laundry soap for about 12 months”.  Thinking back on it now, I think he laughed and didn’t take me serious.

Oransi Robby Wash Ball arrived with the ball, a stain stick and 3 refill bags of the wash pellets that go into the ball. When I opened the package it smelled clean and fresh, I immediately thought “if my clothes end up smelling like this, it would be a plus”. Yes, I was still hesitate even at this point I’ve used the same brands of laundry soap for years so it’s hard to make switches like this.

First load of wash, came out smelling fresh and clean, after drying they were soft and still had a fresh clean smell. Loads 2 – 10 the same thing, fresh smelling and soft. This is when I decided to let the hub’s in on the secret, I again mentioned we won’t be buying laundry soap for at least a year and told him why. He didn’t believe me, and said “that ball will clean our clothes for a year and leave them smelly and soft too?” (smelly means clean smelling in man terms) I asked him if his clothes have been soft and clean smelling cause I’ve been using the wash ball for 2 weeks now. If only I had taken a picture of the look on his face it was classic. So Oransi congratulations you’ve turned 2 non believers into believers of your product!

That is up to 90% less than traditional detergent (for example a bottle of Dreft laundry detergent is $10 on average – super expensive when compared to the Robby wash ball – and how long the liquid laundry soap actually lasts).

When I saw the Butt Bench the first thing I thought of was “darn why didn’t I stumble upon this when I broken my ankle”. Bath time then was such an adventure. I couldn’t get my leg wet, and trying to stand on one leg was hard. Oh, where were you Butt Bench then.

After Flats are great for after the party tired feet. If you are like me, when you go to a party that calls for a dressy attire, you wear heels. By the end of the night my feet are sore, ankles are tired and I am ready to slip my feet into something comfy. Not only are they great for after the party, but they come in a cute small clutch that you can carry around at the party. There is room enough for a lip stick, credit card, ID. As you can see from the pictures, I received a gold pair. I love how they have a cute little bow on the front, and the sole is slightly padded. The back of the flat has elastic to keep them from slipping off your feet. They remind me of ballet slippers or jeanie slippers. I loved how they came all tucked neatly in the little clutch, and how it turns into a carry tote for your heels later. They are just as easy to store once your done wearing them, just tuck the heel into the front of the shoe. They fold easily and fit right back into the clutch. My random thoughts stem from am an article I read the other day. A fellow blogger wrote about how she had a ballerina themed party for her daughter’s birthday. She had all the little girls come dressed as ballerinas it was so cute. Again I never thought to have a costume theme for a birthday party. I guess I always related costumes with Halloween, since everyone always says Halloween costumes.

I’ve been thinking that when my daughter and grand babies come back home, it would be so cute to have a costume party for their birthday’s. Princess or a Cat in the Hat themed party would be perfect for my oldest grand-daughter. I took a peek at some of the costumes for kids online and found so many. Regardless of the theme I decide to do, there are plenty of costumes available.

I remember many years ago a few of my friends took out our street sign. I kept thinking why on earth would anyone want a street sign anyways. He later added it to his collection in his game room, it appeared he had many other street signs. I kept wondering if he bought any of them or if he ripped them from the ground like he had his newest sign.

Later when my son was a toddler he loved hot wheels (die-cast cars), and I decorated his room with everything to do with cars, traffic signs, and street signs. All the signs I had made myself from felt, cloth and cardboard.

Last week I was talking to a girl friend, and how she wants to decorate her son’s room with cars etc. But she didn’t want to make all the signs etc. So I decided to help her look for things online. Google my bestie helped. I found a site that sells all kinds of signs, from traffic, street, custom designs and road signs. I sent her the website the other day, she was so excited that she didn’t have to make them all.

I wished I had thought of looking on Google years ago when I did my sons room, it would have been so much easier to buy some of them. I guess it’s alright because I enjoyed making them. How many of you have bought yourself a really nice expensive pair of sunglasses, and misplaced them within a months time? I’ve done it so many times and finally learned my lesson. I wasn’t meant to own an expensive pair of sunglasses, and I can’t afford to keep buying them either. So that began my search for my next greatest pair, yes I used Google again (don’t laugh Google and I are besties). I wanted something affordable, but trendy looking. I came across a few interesting sites, but one really caught my eye 9apair.com. After an email and a few questions, I was offered 3 pairs of sunglasses for my review and honest opinion of their product.

9apair.com ~ Affordable Sunglasses

9apair.com offers affordable ($9.00) trendy sunglasses that replicate many expensive named brands like Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Juicy and more. They had many to choose from which made it hard for me to decide which ones to get. I ended up choosing 2 pairs for myself and 1 for the hub’s.

I picked a Coach and Juicy look-alike for myself and Carrera pair for the hub’s, they arrived within 3 days of ordering in a sturdy box, and each were individually packaged. Their customer service and shipping/packaging of the product was great.

Sunglasses Review

Coach - I liked the look of the clear version on the website and decided to give them a try. The sunglasses were nicely made with a combination of metal and plastic. The replica “coach” type design on the side was nicely done. I wanted to see how many would think they were real coach sunglasses. I placed them on the counter in view of a few friends and they immediately commented on my new “coach” sunglasses. It took a closer look for them to see they weren’t real. The design of Coach is a C, these are O’s. The appearance and the comfort of these were great, and for 9$ I could afford to misplace them.

Juicy - I don’t buy many products from Juicy, but there sunglasses are stylish. I also have never gotten myself a pair of sunglasses that were rounded. I decided to go with the black ones and see how I liked the rounder type versions of sunglasses. They were also well made and were a great replica of Juicy sunglasses. Fitting comfortably on my face (nose) I liked these, but I am still undecided about round sunglasses. But if you know you love that style these are a great pair to have.

Carrera - The hub’s likes to have some what of a wrap around effect and likes UV and Polarized sunglasses. He golf’s often and these type are great on the greens. I decided to get him a pair that had them all. I liked how they looked straight out of the packaging and they looked nice on. But since I wasn’t wearing them, I needed his opinion, he wore them for a week and gave me his honest opinion. He liked everything about them, the style, the wrap around type side and the UV, polarized effects. But he had one complaint daily, he didn’t like how they set so close to his face. I believe this is only because of the wrap around design. He later mentioned he didn’t like his sunglasses with a rim on the bottom. So I believe that it wasn’t the sunglasses but just his personal  preference.

A girlfriend and I were talking the other day, about how both of us were thinking of starting a garden. Neither of us have a green thumb, but wanted to give our best shot at it anyway. We love to cook and use fresh herbs, but we were buying them. It would be more fulfilling if we grew our own.

Aren’t they the most amazing, exciting hats you’ve ever seen? I love … love the 3rd photo my dream Derby hat! When I think of the Kentucky Derby, I remember Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. The scene where she is dressed in the brown and white polka dot dress, and that awesome hat.

Fun Facts about the Kentucky Derby:

There are 400+ roses in the garland that is placed over the winning horse.

Mint Julep is a traditional drink served at the Derby, a mixture of bourbon, fresh spearmint, distilled water, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar. It’s served in an ice-frosted silver julep cup but most, patrons sip theirs from souvenir glasses (first offered in 1939 and available in revised form each year since) printed with all previous Derby winners.

Thick stew of beef, chicken, pork and vegetables, is a popular Kentucky dish served at the Derby.
