Don’t you know the year I decide to talk about how we don’t do Valentine’s Day, the Hubs goes all out! So here’s some great Valentine’s Day Ideas for next year!! Christmas Traditions at the McConnell’s

Christmas Traditions at the McConnell’s

I have always been big on family traditions, as a child we had very few Christmas traditions. When I had my children I felt it was important to start our own Christmas traditions, which have carried on down to the grand children. Some of them are, decorating on Thanksgiving night, picking out a new ornament for the tree, making cookies for Santa, and teaching our children that it’s not how many gifts you get, it’s the time spent with family. Over the years we’ve added a few new traditions too. We now have an Elf on the Shelf, an advent…

Happy-New-Year-2014

Well it’s New Years eve and as of this very second the McConnell household is still undecided as to how we’re going to ring in the New Year! I know… crazy right? We had planned to do what we’ve done for the past 5 plus years, which is to go over to our friends house and just hang out. We’ve always enjoyed ourselves and we love it that it’s always family/kid friendly. To be honest it’s almost always a given as to where we spend our New Year’s eve. I am not sure when our plans changed… nor am I…

Proudly Honoring All Who Served this Veterans Day

Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. My granddaughter’s school is honoring Veterans by placing a star on their classroom bulletin board for every Veteran(s) each student knows. Each star has the name of a Veteran, their military division & years served, as well as the war served in. I proudly wrote my hubby’s name, rank and information on a star then handed it to my granddaughter to decorate. As I handed it to her I said “this star is for grandpa”, she…
