My granddaughter Kayden loves having a sandwich at grandma’s house. Why you ask? Well don’t you know that sandwiches made by grandmas are simply the best? I used to think that my grandma made the best sandwiches, and it was the same when my children were little, they’d always eat sandwiches so quickly while that their grandmas house. This lead me to believe that grandma’s just make sandwiches better!
OK.. I know you’re thinking “wake up Deb you’re stuck in fairytale land.” But if you have kiddies and grand children of your own you probably know what I am talking about. How many times have you made a sandwich for your children and they pick and poked at it, then you watched them gobble it up at grandma’s house or even over at a friends house? Well its happened to me more times than I want to admit (I had 5 kiddies).
Of course my granddaughter is no different, while visiting a couple weeks ago I made her a sandwich to which she finished quickly and asked for another. I told my daughter Dani later, how she had eaten 2 sandwiches at lunch time. To which she said,”what? really I can hardly get her to eat sandwiches at home.” See my theory is right grandma’s make better sandwiches!
But do we make better sandwiches or is it because we make them into fun magical shapes? Well I am guilty of the later, I’ve always cut Kayden’s sandwiches into hearts. She loves hearts! I’d find the largest mouth cup I could find, and use it to cut out a heart shaped sandwich just for her. She would smile and gobble it up! Shhh… don’t tell her mom my secret, it’s kind of neat thinking that Grandma’s just make the best sandwiches!
I always thought that there had to be an easier way to do it, and I set out to see if there was. Of course I found cookie cutters and a few other sandwich cutters at the stores, but nothing really caught my eye. The one’s I did think about trying weren’t any better than my cup and butter-knife. Until I came across FunBites!
I decided to reach out to them and see if they’d like to work with me, to my excitement they were just as delighted as I was and agreed to let me review their Luv it cutter. I picked the Luv it one because Kayden loves hearts and this would make my sandwich making days easier. They also have a Cube it, which makes a bunch of little cubes bites.
One of the features I really like about this product, is that the cutter is curved so when you’re cutting you can rock it back in forth to get a good cut. I also love that it comes with an insert-able piece that helps push the pieces out. It’s also top shelf dishwasher safe and BPA free. Best of all Kayden loves the fun bite-sized pieces and gobbles up all her food. Thank you FunBites for giving us the opportunity to review your great product!
You can learn more about FunBites by visiting their site here, they can also be found on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
So what do you think, Do grandma’s make the best sandwiches?

I am only a step grandma so far and the baby is too young for visits, but I look forward to the time when I can spoil my grandkids. Right now I love making fun foods for my girls and we do have the Cube It cutter which I actually love. And I just got the Luv It Cutter (hearts) but haven’t used it yet. Love that it leaves a great heart shape in the center. Can’t wait to try ours.
