I remember as a little girl every time we’d go shopping as we were walking out of the store, my father would hand my sister and I a penny (yes I said penny! Believe it or not they used to take pennies) and we’d run to the gumball machines. We were always so excited and hoped to get our favorite colors. I always wanted pink and she’d want a blue one, the childhood memories that we remember as our own children, and grandchildren grow. Times have changed though and an average gumball machine takes nothing less than a quarter, and instead of simple little gumballs they are filled with handfuls of candies, or stickers and useless little toys.
One day I stumbled onto Gumball.com and after reaching out to them, I was delighted that they wanted to work with Scattered Musings. I received their Jr. Gumball machine, with 2 refill bags. As soon as it arrived I filled it and placed it in a common place so that it would be seen by anyone paying a visit. The gumball machine also serves as a piggie bank, all the monies put into the machine is caught in the bottom. It takes coins from pennies to quarters, of course most of the coins now in the machine came from a little stash dish we keep in our bedroom. But none the less it’s fun watching the kids, and grandchildren twisting the handle with excitement in their eyes. Kayden my granddaughter is like me, she always wants a pink one. Something I guess I never realized until now, regardless of the color they all taste the same.
Darth Vader Noah getting his gumball.
Our gumball machine is a hit and everyone stops by it and gets a gumball from time to time, Yes I still hope for a pink one to come out!
Even Noah knows I like the pink ones, and always offers it to me if he gets one! : – )
The gumball machine is made from sturdy metal and glass. It’s easy to fill, and the piggie bank is easy to open from the bottom. So cool! Who doesn’t love gumball machines and gumballs and have happy memories from growing up. I remember if we were good at the store or my kids were then they could get a gumball from the machine when we were done shopping.
I would sooooo love to win this for my precious niece and nephew Jon and Jenah, then everytime they got a gumball hopefully they’d remember it’s like a sweet bit of lovies in their tummies from their aunt yvonne. : D
Thanks for the FUN giveaway and fun prize to both you and the sponsor. : D

Hello.
I’m catching up on Blog Hop Saturday! visiting.
Back in the day (doesn’t that make me sound old!), you could do a lot with a penny. Not so nowadays. Not even sure why they’re still in distribution. We have a big jar of them in our kitchen growing dust! Gumballs remind me of Smarties. I remember my sisters always fought over the red ones…for lipstick. I on the other hand preferred the orange ones. Somehow they always tasted better.
I enjoyed reading this post. Thanks for sharing. Please bookmark your calendar for the next Blog Hop Saturday on Aug 3rd-4th.
Wishing you well…hope you’re still on track with the weight loss/healthy living (smile).
Andy, ha!! I can definitely relate to “back in the day” and yes as a girl I remember using lollipops as lipstick.
I guess each generation had their own little “thing”. I am glad you enjoyed reading my post. I am still on track but I’ve had my daughter and granddaughters in town so I’ve been a little slack, on the dieting/working out. I’ll join in on the next hop for sure!! Thanks for stopping by and for your continued support!!
