Zip.. Zipz .. Zip yourself a new pair of shoes in a matter of minutes!

I love shoes!! Go figure right? What woman doesn’t like shoes? But even more I love saving money while buying new styles of shoes. How would you like it if you could buy a pair of shoes, and when you wanted a new style all you had to do was zip .. zipz .. zip yourself a new pair? Interesting concept huh? I also bet you’re thinking one of the following, this woman has gone mad or hey she might be on to something here. Well I am a tad bit mad, and someone was definitely on to something with this idea of zipping shoes. Let me introduce the gang behind the zipping shoe concept.

Everyone meet Zipz Shoes! Zipz Shoes meet everyone!! Alright now that the introductions are over with, let me tell you a bit more about Zipz Shoes. ZIPZ® are removable and interchangeable shoes, like nothing you’ve owned before! Match any ZIPZ® COVERS with any same size ZIPZ® SOULS to create one of-a-kind mix and match shoes. Their shoes are handmade to ensure comfort, quality, and reliability. Invented in California, Designed in the U.S. But wait there is more behind Zipz Shoes being born, and it’s such an interesting story I’d like to share a bit of it. John Stefani tells the below story of his father Jerry Stefani’s idea.

During a family BBQ about 5 years ago there were lots of little children running around. My aunt made a comment that it was frustrating as a parent that the children constantly wanted new shoes and changed their shoes several times a day. In a stream of conscious thinking my father said, “Maybe you need like an interchangeable shoe that you only buy pieces for or something the kids could change the pieces themselves on”. The comment was quickly forgotten but after the group disbanded my immediate family members inquired about my dad’s thought and asked how he would make such a product. He didn’t know but over the next couple of weeks my immediate family worked on the ideas and 5 years later here we are.

After reading their story and seeing their shoes, I decided to reach out to them and to my pleasure they thought that it would be great to work with Scattered Musings on a review/giveaway. So without further ado let’s get this review started!!

Zipz Shoes ..  My Review

Again I loved their story and the concept of Zipz shoes, but having a great story and an interesting concept doesn’t mean the product will be as great and interesting. But let me tell you they are!! The design is just as great as their story and the styles you can pick are even more interesting.

I decided to have Buggie (my 12 yr old) help me with this review, so I picked out a pair that would fit him in a design that best suited his style. Buggie is a simple guy and likes to keep things simple so I decided on black tops and black and white sole. Don’t they look great?

I got him an Adult male size 5 which fit him perfectly. He wears about a 4 to 4.5 with room to grow so the 5 was a good idea. Again we did the simple design, but they have so many unique interesting designs to pick from to view them visit here. Not only can you get them in really cool designs, but you can choose between shoes that tie, have velcro closures, and even high tops. Zipz are made for men, women, boys and girls in sizes ranging from toddler size 8 to adult sizes 13 for men and 15 for women. With so many options you’re going to find a perfect pair for every family member.

Buggie thought the idea of zipping his shoes off and on was pretty neat. So instead of untying his shoes and taking them off, he unzipped them. The way children think is always so amusing to me, he unzips his shoes, the soles fall in one place and the upper part of the shoe is still attached to his leg.(I honestly think he thought they would just fall off if he unzipped them) He thought that was pretty darn funny, and thought it would be even funnier to wear the tops with his flip- flops. I wished I had taken a picture of him goofing around and the looks of his friends face when he said “hey guys like my new shoes?” Yep I got myself a comedian in the making, we all laughed so hard our tummies hurt. When we finally got ourselves under control he finally untied them and took them off, but now he had 4 pairs of shoes to pick up! It was cute seeing the look on his face when I told him to pick up his shoes. HA!! See it’s not always fun and games huh? He laughed then said “Ha! one pair of shoes with twice as many parts” and zipped them back together. I don’t think he’ll be taking them off like that again. He is a bit on the lazy side. So not only are Zipz shoes an awesome product, but they are also a crowd pleaser too! This summer will be interesting as we attend family gathers, picnics and bar-a-ques, I can see Buggie showing everyone his really “cool, FUNNY (he thinks they are) shoes” But he’s 12 and at that age where their must be a joke behind everything!! Oh boy I can see it now!!

Buggie said that they are comfy, cool and funny!! Zipz Shoes you’ve not only earned my approval but you’ve earned the approval of a group of 11- 12 yr old boys too! I can see more approvals in the near future from all our summer gatherings etc.
