hair color {the story}
I have colored my hair since my mid 20′s, when I noticed my naturally blonde hair getting darker and I didn’t like it. I was one of those blondes that during the summer months my hair would turn green from the pool. I was also called a toe-head.
After I started having babies and I guess with age it started getting darker and I almost felt guilty saying I was a natural blonde. Which often resulted in me coloring my hair. For many years I’d go in and say give me the norm to my hair dresser Roberto, and I’d walk out looking like the blonde I used to know.
Roberto eventually moved on to bigger and better things, and when I’d walk into my salon of 10+ years I always felt like I was walking through the game field at the fair. Many different stylists, all trying to sell me the next best thing and no one knew my “give me the norm” statement. I remember one trip the stylist said, we’ll lighten, add highlights here and lo-lights there and you’ll be back to the blonde you used to be. I was getting married then so I went ahead and did it, well that darn salon trip cost me more than my wedding dress. Really!! From that day on I vowed I’d learn to start coloring and highlighting my hair.
Finding the right hair color isn’t easy, it took a few trial and errors but I eventually got. I didn’t want harsh chemicals and I wanted something as natural as I could get. I used one product for many years then I came across EcoColors and really wanted to give them a try.
hair color by EcoColors {the review}
I was drawn to EcoColors for a few reasons, I have been trying to use Eco-friendly products and their name gives off a great Eco-friendly vibe. I have also been reading more about hair care products and how much better products without all the extra chemicals like sulfite, paraben and propylene are for your hair. Another score because their hair color is paraben, sulfite and propylene glycol free. Sounds great huh? I went ahead and decided to reach out to them to learn more.
After reaching out to EcoColors I was excited that they offered to let me try it. I was even more shocked at their process. They had me do a survey basically asking me what color I wanted to achieve, any previous hair color products I’ve used etc. I almost felt like I was at a salon and someone other than myself actually cared about the end results. A day after completing the survey I received and email with the results, they took my answers and came up with a great color that they thought would be what I was looking for. I received the product shortly after that.
EcoColors hair color is easy to use, prepare mix, apply, rinse and your done. The instructions are simple to understand and if you don’t you can call them using their toll-free number. The product doesn’t have a harsh chemical smell and was not as unpleasant like many products are. After mixing the hair color becomes a thick gel like mixture, which is great because it ran less. (meaning I didn’t get a lot on my ears, neck etc.)
