Happy Birthday Noah!!

Happy Birthday Buggie, I love you!! Hope all your Birthday wishes come true!!

It was a great day today, my youngest baby was born 11 years ago, wow time sure does fly, I remember bringing him home from the hospital like it was yesterday. Noah is a very bright little boy, and he makes us all laugh with his quick wit and happy-go-lucky attitude.

As I mentioned before, the birthday tradition for Noah is that we bake a cake and he gets to decorate it as he chooses, well since he is 11 now he actually did most of the preparing for cake to be baked, he measured the water, oil  etc. He seemed to enjoy it, I just sat there talking to him as he went about mixing, pouring etc. The only thing I did was turn on the oven, put the cake in and out.

After the cake cooled, we frosted it (chocolate icing) and I let him take over the rest, I went about my chores and told him if he needed me or when he finished to give me a shout, after a few mins (no more than 5 :P ) he says “ok mom, all done” I told him awesome job and I would come and see in a few…. I was a bit weary of going to see it, afraid the 3 bottles of sprinkles, the tubes of color icing and the remaining chocolate icing would all be piled up on top… But I was pretty shocked to see he only threw on a few sprinkles and wrote across the bottom ” I am 10″ I told him he did awesome and we’d eat it after dinner…

I got busy again cleaning up the icing, etc. When I looked over at the cake and was like ummm… Noah how old are you today? He says … mom you don’t know my age, I replied back “well son I know your age, but I think you don’t” you put 10 on your cake! He came running to the kitchen giggling and grabbed the icing tube, and put a 1 through the 0 and said …” there, now I am 11″

He’s so cute, some of the things he says…

We had dinner, and I put the candles on the cake for him to make his wishes. The candles were the ones that re light themselves, he blows them out and seems happy with himself, when I said Yo, Buggie you gonna blow these candles out or what?” he giggles and says I just did! well we really got a few giggles outta him blowing out the candles, he literally blew them out about 6 times .. The whole time busting out laughing…

I am glad that the simple things still please him and I hope its something that sticks with him for a while.

Happy Birthday again Buggie!! Love you little guy :)

After dinner, cake and ice cream, I cleaned the kitchen and we kinda did our own thing, which was when I started thinking about my day, for some reason, I felt very pleased, content almost bubbly. Of course a lot had to do with seeing Noah so happy etc. But I think some had to do with a conversation I had with a friend today, very pleasant, upbeat talk where we got carried away talking about everything, it felt good to be open, and just talk going from one topic to the next… I am still smiling…

It was a good day, and I see many more to come..
